The Anchor Collective provides community events, family resources, podcasts, volunteer coordination, donation information, member networking, and account-based portal tools. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
- Account details such as name, email, phone number, date of birth, neighborhood, family role, preferred contact method, interests, and support needs.
- Portal activity such as RSVPs, volunteer signups, liked posts, saved posts, network connection requests, gym partner profiles, messages, safety reports, notifications, and account settings.
- Authentication and session information handled through Convex Auth, including secure session data and password reset records.
- Donation-related information only when you choose to use a donation link. Payment processing may happen through a third-party payment service if a cause includes an external payment URL.
- Basic technical data needed to operate the website, such as browser storage and necessary cookies for login and security.
How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts, prevent duplicate accounts, provide member features, manage events and volunteer lists, show personalized activity, support networking tools, respond to requests, improve safety, and communicate about Anchor programs.
Sharing
We do not sell member personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the portal, support community programming, comply with law, protect safety, or use service providers such as Convex for hosting, authentication, database, and file storage. Members can choose in Settings whether their email or phone number is visible to network connections.
Security
Passwords are handled by Convex Auth and are not stored by The Anchor Collective in plaintext member profiles. Access to admin tools is role-based. Database traffic is handled through Convex-hosted services. No security system can be guaranteed perfect, but we work to collect only what we need and protect what we keep.
Your Choices
You may choose not to create an account. Members can update privacy settings in the portal, request help through the Contact page, and delete their account in Settings. Account deletion removes the member profile, authentication records, sessions, event activity, network connections, gym partner data, messages, notifications, donations, invoices, and other member records tied to the account from Convex, except where retention is required by law or safety obligations.
Children
The portal is not intended for children under 13 to create accounts without a parent or guardian. If we learn that a child under 13 created an account without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
